Hear the Taste: Eating with the Ears
Music is a means to creating an atmosphere. Coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs all use music to set a mood for their patrons.
Hear the Taste scones use sound to create an atmosphere for one’s palate. Just as wines are paired with certain foods, songs have been paired with scones to enhance the tastes.
Hear the Taste can be enjoyed as a solo activity, or as a group activity, given the size of the box.
Giving the box a conventional bake shop aesthetic on the outside, and securing each with a piece of tape in front of the customer enhances the eccentricity of what lies within.

Vanilla Cream Scones: The Etiquette of Eating
Vacuum-sealing the Vanilla Cream Scones calls attention to the role of convenience foods in our lives. Labeling them with the lengthy list of ingredients poses the question what we are willing to sacrifice for ready-made foodstuffs.
Creating the scones from existing convenience foods is a test of convention. Do we call these scones because they are shaped that way? Because they are the color we deem scones to be? Or are they NOT scones because they were not sold from a glass bakery case?
Having the scones packaged with a perforated doily is a means to create our assumed “proper” scone experience in any environment.

The Fortune Scone : The Pace of Eating
The counting of the bites taken to consume the scone, and then the decision on the flavor of jam encountered in the center have the eater truly become mindful of the food they are consuming.
Rather than merely eating the scone, the scone is savored and the act of tasting paid complete attention to.
The playfulness of the act is a reminder that food is not only fuel for our bodies, but our minds as well.

Why We Need Food Trucks in a Recession

These trucks are tailor made for an economic downturn, which is why we should be mobilizing the mobile food movement.

Scone Sunday is a pop-up shop focused on delivering unique eating experiences to its customers. Each week, a different scone is sold, along with a new way for people to experience the act of eating. The scones and their delivery are designed to have eaters look at how, what, and why we eat things the way we do.
